I tried really really hard over the last couple of days to think of something good about being a lawyer - don’t want to be accused of being a pessimist or one of those whiner/complainer types. Finally, I thought of something good! At least, sort of….

When you are a lawyer (unless you work for some super duper freaky living in the 18th century cheap-ass fools and believe me I have), you have access to on-line legal research like Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw. And, if your plan includes it (repeat stuff above about cheap losers above), you can do Public Record searches. Every lawyer/law student I know, when they first get on-line access, takes the opportunity to look someone up. Yep, it’s true. I did it too. Found out I had an uncle, an uncle in jail! Yep. Didn’t know I had an uncle in jail! I’m gonna tell you about him tomorrow…
